Question of the Week 3/14

Hypothetically if you could be doing anything this summer what would it be? Alternatively if you have plans for the summer you may share them and we will be super excited for you!

My ideal job this summer would first and foremost not have ANYTHING to do with summer classes or certification tests... It would instead involve running my own soccer camp that teaches the fundamentals of the game to younger kids and beginners and more advanced aspects of the game to intermediates and advanced players. The camp would be a combined day camp and overnight camp lasting about a week long each session.

It is no secret, I am going overseas for the first time this summer which is very much my ideal summer! However, it would be a lot better if I knew what I was doing when I return. So my summer would be made so much better if I found a job, please and thank you!

my ideal summer will be divided into 3 parts:

1) I will be "discovered" as an extreme natural talent at something that someone will pay me generously to do. For the first half of the summer.

2) At the end of June i will go to NYC to do summer studio with the most in-demand architecture professor, will hone my architecture skills, make great friendships and experience the excitement of big-city life, meanwhile enabling myself to graduate less-late! (Jay-Z and Alicia will accompany me.)

3) Fall madly in love, run away together and ride horses into the sunset.

Only one of these scenarios is likely, but that's actually pretty good in my opinion.

I would be sitting on a porch, overlooking the ocean, access to lemonade and sweet tea, with a mandate to read one book each day for 30 days. But what the summer really brings is flying around the country and driving rental cars from the airport to somebody else's office and then to a hotel; repeat...need anything from Volga, South Dakota while I'm there???

My summer should be pretty good... very first week I'm going to the beach! Starting in June I start helping out at the children's camps at church, starting off with FCA powercamp! There are just enough camps at church to keep me busy, but still give me free time so I can travel around and whatnot when I so desire... There will be at least 2 if not 3 weeks at a beach...

If I could do anything this summer... I would work on a big ol' sailing ship for a few months traveling around the world. Ocean air is terrible for guitars, so I would teach myself how to play the harmonica and Irish whistle in my spare time. At each port, I would go ashore with the ethnically diverse crew and we would play music at bars, coffee shops, boardwalks, anywhere we could. Word of our soulful, eclectic live performances would spread like wildfire, and by the end of the summer we'd have a 5-album contract with Vanguard Records and I would have a pet parrot and a healthy tan for the first time in my life. But seriously, I am going to learn the harmonica this summer.

I will be spending my summer in Clemson continuing my internship with Ryobi/Ridgid. This will be my first summer in Clemson, and I am looking forward to it.

I think I would start out by backpacking across Europe. Somewhere along the way, I would climb the Eiffel tower, sing in a really old Cathedral, ride a sailboat in Italy and walk on crazy beautiful cliffs, ski down the Alps, and eat a Belgian waffle. Maybe I would pop on over to China and walk the entire length of that huge wall with a dragon costume.
