TOP 3:1. GTech v. Clemson 2006 (Homecoming) -- basically we dominated. We got a top 10 rating right after that! :]2. USC v. Clemson 20083. Miami v. Clemson -- 3OT, we lost, but still one of the best!
Dude Liz, you totally stole two of my answers but here they are anyway...It is a tie between the USC game last year, which was awesome because we were at the front of the hill, and even though it was raining for most of the game, we dominated USC and I just had a blast with friends and family!and the GT game in 2006, which was homecoming, ESPN gameday was at Clemson for the first time in the school's history! Clemson was ranked 12th and GT was 13th, it was suppose to be an epic battle, but it turned into Clemson dominating the jackets from start to finish!
I'll be different and say that the Miami-Clemson game in 2005 is my favorite even though we lost and I kept getting laughed at for yelling "N" too early because it was my first Clemson game. This game is what turned me into a Clemson fan. I was sitting in the student section and nobody stopped screaming at the top of their lungs the entire time Miami had the ball. The Georgia Tech game was also amazing. C.J. Spiller's touchdown on the screen pass where he made the two GT defenders on the sideline look like middle school girls is definitely my favorite Clemson football play that I have ever seen in person.
My favorite would have to be that Boston College earlier this year. I mean 5 HOURS of Death Valley in the rain. Who will ever forget the first time there were not one, but TWO lightning delays in the same game for the first time at a Clemson game in my life. But seriously, GT game my freshman year (2006) trumps them all. Homecoming+Gameday+two top 15 teams at night in Death Valley+All Purple for the first time+James Davis and Spiller going crazy=in my top 5 for top days in college
Ps-if I had attended the game this weekend, that totally would be number 1!
Florida State game in November 2005. My Papa John had just been diagnosed with cancer in his liver and duodenum and my grandmother almost didn't even let him go to the game because she told him he would probably drop dead there. But alas he did not. He did, however, get to see one final victory for the tigers. That is the first and last time I have ever seriously prayed to the good Lord about a football game but God blessed it and we won so maybe that's the answer for us all from now on. Anywho, it was wonderful to spend that time with my grandfather because I was set on going to Yale and didn't really want to come to Clemson but (who in the world has the money to go to Yale) spending that time with him there is definitely one of the things that made me even want to come and here I am!
Clemson-Carolina games of 93 and 95 - both at Carolina, and we won both. SO SWEET! Also, first Bowden Bowl - we lost, but not by much and it was soooooooooooooooo crowded (I think it still holds the record. I sat on Stuart's lap or stood in front of him the whole game.) Silas's fave was GTEch v Clemson 2006. He and Stuart went and he LOVED IT! He would sing and jump throughout the next weeks --oh oh oh oh oh...oh ...oh oh oh...okay - i am not typing all that up. but you get the idea....
